According to Janine Benyus, biomimetics see nature in three ways: as a model, as a measure and as a mentor. Nature presents itself as an established prototype to study forms, processes and systems. It is also an ecological standard to ensure sustainability. Lastly, it also teaches us what works and lasts for a longer duration.
