The meaning of an ensuite bathroom lies within its name. ‘Ensuite’ is a French word, that means in bedroom. According to the Cambridge Dictionary, it is a bathroom that is directly connected to a bedroom, or a bedroom that is connected to a bathroom. These are attached to bedrooms and are considered private washrooms. These are never built off of common areas like hallways.
The modern bathrooms have grown from just being private spaces to becoming a personal resort of luxury and calmness. The luxury, comfort and privacy achieved in ensuite bathroom is not only a result of evolving engineering but also because of the social change.
Most ensuite bathrooms include bathtubs, shower, toilets and vanity unity. It may be attached to bedroom, spa room or walk-in-closet. Depending on the luxury houses or hotels, it keeps changing. As any other space, the size and features of ensuite bathroom can be different. Sliding doors and different flooring can be seen between the bathroom and the adjoining room.
Opting an open plan for these rooms is also an option worth considering. The open plan bedroom and bathroom give luxury and privacy. The bathrooms are partly or completely open to the bedroom. It usually has the sink, bathtub or shower cabin. The partition between bathroom and its adjoining room can be solid walls, shelves or just partition screens. Glass partition is an on-going trend of present times. The flooring of both these spaces are different because of the uses as well as for demarcation. The change in the intensity of lighting can also contribute to distinguishing the two given spaces.
These bathrooms are gaining more and more popularity not only in terms of privacy but also luxury. This is also an alternative for smaller households that do not entertain many guests. Ensuite bathrooms are a luxury that you can bring into your homes and are not only limited to 5-star or 7-star hotels.
