Our findings revealed a growing desire for meaningful connections among employees, ranging from interpersonal relationships with colleagues and mentors to a profound connection with their physical work environment. Recognizing the profound impact of this sentiment, we emphasize that acknowledging the deeper significance of the workplace fosters an environment where employees can authentically express their individuality.

Responsive Design

 

Throughout the pandemic, Kimball International undertook comprehensive research to gain insights into employee needs. In collaboration with our research partners, a consistent message emerged: the adaptability of design is paramount across diverse markets. Delving into spatial dynamics, we identified four pivotal trends encapsulated as the 4 Ps - Pliability, Performance, Power, and Placement. These elements must harmonize to fashion spaces that genuinely address user needs and offer an exceptional experience.

Embracing the principles garnered from our research, we harnessed design-thinking to formulate 6 distinct Space Types founded on the bedrock of the 4 Ps. These configurations not only champion responsive design in various workplace settings but also cater to a diverse spectrum of users. In a dynamic landscape encompassing scenarios from complete remote work arrangements to flexible schedules and a resurgence of office attendance, organizations grapple with accommodating ever-fluctuating demands. Kimball International stands ready to guide through this ever-evolving terrain, enriching employee experience, bolstering engagement, fostering retention, and nurturing satisfaction.
